SCREENPLAYS

HAVE YOUR BOOK CONVERTED TO A SCREENPLAY

Would your book make a great feature film, TV show, or series for a streaming service?
Award-winning screenwriter, Nickolas Potter, will guide you!

Nicholas PotterNICKOLAS POTTER is a screenplay expert with 38 years of experience in writing and editing screenplays and turning books and story ideas into successful scripts. He is a graduate of the prestigious University of Southern California’s Master of Professional Writing Program, with an emphasis in screenwriting.

Nick wrote and produced a triple award-winning feature film called, RETREAT, a 98-minute drama. RETREAT won “Best Feature Film” at the Telluride Film Festival and the Key West Film Festival; “Best Feature-Length Drama” at the Woods Hole International Film Festival on Cape Cod; the “Audience Choice Award” at the Woods Hole International Film Festival on Cape Cod; and was screened at the European Film Market in Berlin.

RETREAT has been distributed in 92 countries outside the United States, and was purchased as a television movie of the week by Ziff Davis and Lyme TV inside the United States. Additionally, RETREAT was distributed globally as the “Feature of the Month” by Stephen Simon (Somewhere in Time, What Dreams May Come) through The Spiritual Cinema Circle.

After the success of RETREAT, Nick worked in script acquisitions at Disney Studios, Tapestry Films, and 1492 Productions for Chris Columbus, Mark Radcliffe, and Michael Barnathan as a proofreader, and at International Creative Management (ICM) in the Literary Department.

Nick discovered the reasons why certain scripts were purchased or picked up for representation while others were passed over.

Nick brings this knowledge and experience to you, knowing full well that what you are really working toward is a movie deal, rather than a lovely but unsold screenplay.

“From our first conversation, it was clear Nick Potter and I were on the same page. I sent him my loglines and he recommended we work on two scripts. Based on the excellent advice he provided, I was able to improve my first script and learned the tools necessary to improve my second one. Right now, thanks to Nick’s efforts, one of my scripts is being read by a top agency!” – Bob Tremblay
